Option 1 - Using the Web Application:
The recommended option to log in to see security camera feeds is to use the web application. Feel free to save this bookmark, so that you can access Milestone from any device that is connected to the City network.
1. Open Google Chrome.
2. Enter the below link(s) in the address bar:
Milestone Link - http://vsview.cityofevanston.org:8081/index.html
3. If you see a screen saying "Your connection is not private," select "Advanced," then select "Proceed to vsview (unsafe)"
4. Enter the username and password you use to sign in to gmail and your computer, then select the sign in button
Option 2 - Using the Milestone Application:
If you have the Milestone application (fat-client) installed on your computer. You will need to set up the following settings before logging in.
1. Select or press the Start Button, type "XProtect" and select "XProtect Smart Client"
2. Computer: Check that "VSMGT" is selected
3. Authentication: Check that "Windows authentication (current user)" is selected
4. Domain: Check that "EVANSTON.GOV" is selected
Note: This should not be selectable as an option.
5. Username: Enter "EVANSTON.GOV\YourUsername" (Do not include @cityofevanston.org.) - Example: EVANSTON.GOV\tedtabaka
Note: This should be greyed out if Windows authentication is selected
6. Password: Enter the password you use for gmail and your PC
Note: This should be greyed out if Windows authentication is selected, and you will not need to enter your password.
7. Select the "Connect" button
