If your password was reset recently (in the past few hours), your old password may still work to log into a Chromebook. However, it will reset by the next day, if not earlier. These steps allow you to change your password using a Chromebook after this point.
In the case that you have not finished resetting your password:
1. Connect to the "CityofEvanston" wifi from the settings in the bottom right corner of the screen. DO NOT connect to "CityofEvanston_Guest" as this will not allow you to continue.
2. On the Chromebook, from the log-in screen, select "Browse as Guest" in the bottom right-hand corner.
3. Enter or click on "view.cityofevanston.org".
4. Select "HTML Access"
5. Log in with your username and the temporary password the IT department gave you when we reset your password.
6. Change your password following the instructions given.
7. Close the window, select the bottom right corner menu, then select "Exit" next to "Guest".
8. Log in to the Chromebook with your new password.
Note that after resetting your password in this way, Google may need some time to sync the changed password. If the login does not work right away, wait a few minutes and try again. It may take up to 3 hours to sync. If the issue persists, contact the IT department.
